Biblioteca digitale delle questioni disputate italiane di medicina e filosofia (XIII–XIV sec.)
Responsabile scientifico: Andrea Tabarroni

The project aims to develop one of the core sections that will form part of a digital archive containing the metadata of manuscript texts transmitting disputed questions in medicine and philosophy. More specifically, the focus is on documents dating from the late thirteenth to the first half of the fourteenth century and attributable to the Italian context, with particular attention to the production of Bolognese masters, within the broader framework of the PRIN 2022 project Teaching and Learning Philosophy in the Regnum Italiae (1250–1450) (TeLPh).
Objectives
The research work initially involves identifying the manuscripts, collecting the relevant material, and studying it — a process that has made it possible to expand the number of questions to be considered — and subsequently proceeding to the cataloguing phase. The material thus digitized will then be integrated into the larger database, designed to provide, through metadata encoding, a tool that facilitates the study of the textual corpus in question, making consultation easier and ensuring a detailed overview of the subject.
Results in the field of DH
- Design, organization, and coordination of the digital cataloguing of the material under study in preparation for its inclusion in the TeLPh database;
- Collaboration in the development and refinement of the database;
- Digitization of the list of questions contained in the appendix of Nancy G. Siraisi’s Taddeo Alderotti and His Pupils (1981).
