The doctoral programme, structured into two curricula, aims to train highly qualified researchers in the fields of historical studies and philosophical studies, capable of working with autonomy and a critical approach within contemporary historiographical and philosophical debates.
The programme offers the opportunity to develop skills in the analysis and valorisation of texts and sources, also through digital tools, to articulate and explore themes and problems with rigour, and to formulate careful and comprehensive interpretations of the complex developmental processes of the present.
The PhD programme seeks to bring together two fundamental directions of research, inquiry and knowledge: attention to the international dimension, through engagement with transnational research bodies and networks, and attention to the local context, also responding to the need to train specialists capable of engaging with and informing the general public.
